Student Missions (SM) and Young Tent Maker Missions (YTM)

“We can do this, if we will.”

Samuel Mills (Haystack Prayer Movement)

“Evangelization of the World in this Generation!”

Declaration of the Student Volunteer Movement

God moves history through young people who willingly commit their lives for the Kingdom of God and His glory.

Since the beginning of the 1800s, through prayer movement like the 1806 Haystack Prayer Movement, God has used the young generation for world evangelization. The Haystack Prayer Movement led to the 1886 Mount Hermon Conference, where the Student Volunteer Movement (SVM) was born. The following year, students voluntarily traveled to 167 different campuses, gathering volunteers who would give their lives to the vision of world evangelization. Over the next four decades, from campuses all across America, 100,000 young people committed their lives to the fulfillment of the Great Commission in their generation. 20,500 boarded ships and set sail for nations that had never heard the gospel before. Willingly, they stepped out in faith, knowing that giving all was worth it for the glory of God.

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

(Matthew 24:14)

Following this legacy, the campus and young adult generation joyfully receive the leadership from God to raise up church planting movement in all of the remaining unreached people groups and Young Generation mission movement in all nations until the day of Jesus' return!

SM & YTM Vision

SMs (Student Missionaries) and YTMs (Young Tent-Makers) are young generation missionaries that go in team to the unreached people groups for one year to plant churches, dreaming God's dream for rapid evangelization of the world. SMs and YTMs go to the last remaining frontiers to make disciples of all nations through incarnation mission and train to become leaders of global mission movement.

Upon their return, SMs and YTMs continue to apply their training from their year on the mission field, leading campus/workplace ministries and continue to return to the field for short-term church-planting mission trips to finish this task in their generation.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

(Matthew 28:18-20)
